Committing to Global Automotive Standards

Three of our Project Engineers have recently completed an external training course ‘Ability to Use International Material Data Sheet System (IMDS)’ with EPR Consulting to expandour team who are able to complete IMDS and to further enhance our compliance to the automotive industry.

Our intention is to ensure the business has full flexibility within our team to deliver a complete PPAP submission and solution. The IMDS system is an important element within the automotive industry and Jenks & Cattell Engineering Ltd are committed to delivering all requirements as part of the initial submission.

Engineers James, David and James are new additions to our capable IMDS team and can now assist with this requirement.

Craig Jeavons, Technical Director, stated: “Congratulations to our three guys for the completion of this training, I look forward to them all using it to assist with future PPAP submissions.”

A proportion of our metal presswork, laser cut fabrications and welded assembly components are supplied into the global automotive market, and have been since the 1950’s, however IMDS requirements did not come into fruition until 2000 and Jenks & Cattell Engineering have been compliant since the early 2000’s. IMDS is the global standard used by all automotive OEMS to collect data for all materials used for manufacturing.
