Jenks & Cattell an Attraction for 1920’s Family History

Jenks & Cattell Jenks & Cattell an Attraction for 1920’s Family History

William Bodin worked at Jenks & Cattell Engineering in the 1920’s, until emigrating to the USA. We recently received a request from William’s Great Grandson, David, who has travelled from the US on business, to visit our metal presswork factory in Wednesfield upon his tour of the local area and sights of where his Great Grandfather lived. Their tour also included local attraction, the Black Country Museum as well as tours of Wolverhampton and Dudley.

William Bodin moved to New York in 1925 where he had a long career with General Electric and David followed in his footsteps until moving on to Lucideon.

David knew of Jenks & Cattell as we provided a reference for emigration in September of 1925, which is photographed.

In terms of history, Jenks & Cattell Engineering was established in the Black Country area in 1886 which makes us one of the most established presswork companies in the UK. For more information, please view our timeline.
