Internal Promotion for Toolmaker Daniel Cooper

We are very pleased to welcome one of our Tool Makers; Daniel Cooper to join our Project Engineering team.

Daniel has received a well-deserved internal promotion after joining our Apprenticeship Scheme in 2014 with Wolverhampton College, and completing his level 3 HNC and HND in Mechanical Engineering whilst completing 7 years’ service with Jenks & Cattell Engineering Ltd.

Our Project Engineering team focus on new product introduction, PPAP completion and ensuring the prototype to production transition of metal components runs smoothly. Daniel is currently looking after two of our automotive customers.

Jenks & Cattell Engineering either receive existing customer tooling for resource projects, or commission new tooling from our UK and/or China approved toolmakers. This involves our Project Engineers validating the press tools and process routes and to run pre-production trials to approve the tooling in-line with customer’s expectations, specifications and tolerances ready for serial production batches.

Speaking of joining his new team, Daniel said: “my knowledge from TPM, modifying and improving tools in the toolroom for the past 7 years will be easily transferable and very beneficial to my Project Engineer role. I am really looking forward to getting involved in new tooling projects and continuously learning in a new section of the business. I am very grateful for the opportunity”.

Craig Poppitt, Technical Engineering Manager said: “Dan, welcome to the team! We are thrilled to have you in the office and you’re going to be a valuable asset to our company, and we can’t wait to see all that you accomplish”

Please join us in offering Dan a very warm welcome.
