Press Shop Operator's & Tool Setter 

25 Days holiday + Bank Holidays + Pension + Comprehensive Training + Potential Career Progression.

35 Hours per week Monday to Friday + shifts + over time opportunity 

We are currently looking for four additional press shop operators and a tool setter. Operator must have power press experience on both manual presses and progression presses

 Setter must have the above with both a valid PUWER 98 cert and a valid FLT license

Our presses range from 40-1000 tonnes, including progression, transfer and 6-stage line


New Business Sales Executive

35 Hours per week Monday to Friday. Working from home as a flexible and occasional option.

We are looking to expand our team with a candidate with a service sales background who is looking to progress a career within an SME where further training and guidance can be provided.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving the diversification of industry and increasing sales across the business with a focus of expanding our customer base. The business has a continuous growth and staff retention whilst providing quality for the customers.

The role:

  • Primarily cold calling to gain new business
  • Working as a team, converting leads gained via marketing and exhibitions and build and maintain relationships
  • Chasing leads and developing key accounts
  • Conduct site tours with customers to build relationships
  • Ability and confidence to complete customer visits, both on and off-site, perform the company presentation to a corporate level, complete quality audits and company shop floor tours.
  • Conduct market research and gathering competitor intel
  • Negotiating and closing deals
  • Liaise with internal engineers to hand over new business projects.
  • Understand the customer base, with the ability to grow current customers and gain new customers.
  • Expected to run and grow accounts up to the value of £2m
  • Confidently communicate with all colleagues of all departments to resolve issues, and feedback customer comments
  • Being confident within customer facing situations, in both positive and negative situations
  • Expectation to do what is necessary to achieve sales including customer visits, cold calls, emails, exhibitions and travelling to support customer requirement
  • Sales reporting to be completed as per the business requirements
  • The candidate is expected to perform excellent account management, from receiving enquiries, obtaining quotations from the estimating team, to handing over orders to the Project Manager. The candidate will look after each customer from start to finish, and always looking to grow each account to its very highest potential. After sales care is essential including regular visits and telephone contact


Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager. The role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team with the aim of improving our business Safety culture, and Manufacturing performance.

The role: 

  • Lead the manufacturing function within budget and output targets to meet customer requirements and standards. Full accountability for managing product compliance, assembly process, ensuring safety standards, quality assurance, cost control and delivery requirements are met
  • Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes so to aid and improve operational performance.
  • Take ownership of the full value stream of supply chain, planning, manufacturing and warehousing functions
  • Further develop customer relationships by communicating with stakeholders
  • Responsible for managing and developing employees by building positive and proactive working relationships.
  • Adaptable so to promote and drive changes led by business demand, with the ability to influence change requirements
  • Lead the factory cadence and execution to ensure all plant metrics, SQDIP (safety, quality, delivery, inventory and productivity) are met
  • Leveraging a strong background in lean manufacturing and continuous improvement, move the plant forwards in its journey of Target Zero
  • IOSH preferable
  • Experience in managing SOP processes and partner with sales and product management team to streamline operations and deliver extraordinary customer experiences


Health & Safety Manager

We are seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager. The role will be part of the Senior Leadership Team with the aim of further developing our safety culture alongside our Target Zero approach.

The successful candidate should have NEBOSH, PUWER certificate and comparable industry experience (presswork, robotics, brake presses) 

The role: 

    • Support and improve the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events
    • Review lessons learned from internal and external incident investigations and revise/update procedures, guidance and forms as required
    • Communicate changes and new requirements to management, supervisors and the workforce and support the embedment of these changes as necessary.
    • Provide H&S leadership and support
    • Monitor and report to line management the implementation of actions to embed requirements into Jenks ways of working
    • Maintain records, minutes, registers, and data as required
    • Introduce a Health and Safety road map or plan
    • Actively make time to dynamically risk assess our daily operations implementing measures to reduce risks
    • Ensure all safety measures, risk assessments and SOP’s are being adhered to and sustained by the way of auditing
    • Participate in the regular reviews and updates of the Project Health & Safety Management System, including but not limited to Phase Plan, Plant and Vehicle Management Plan, Emergency Plan and others as deemed necessary for the project

    Production Planner

    An experienced Production Planner is required as an addition to join our Production team. Experience in the automotive industry and metal presswork manufacturing is beneficial, but we will consider experienced personnel from a Production Planning/manufacturing/logistics backgrounds.

    Must have excellent communication skills to speak with colleagues and suppliers.

    Planning, organising and time keeping skills are essential.

    Excellent computer skills are required, and extra training will be provided for our internal system.

    The role:

    • Responsible for a manageable amount of customers as a key production contact
    • Have day to day contact with the production and manufacturing teams to ensure metal components are manufactured and delivered to customer specifications and deadlines.
    • Plan various processes to manufacture a complete metal assembly. May involve planning laser cutting, metal pressing, welding and dispatch


    Process Engineer

    A trainee position may be considered for the right candidate, with an engineering qualification as a minimum requirement. A person with press shop and tooling experience is desirable, particularly transfer and progression tooling knowledge.  

    CAD experience and computer literacy skills are essential.

    Excellent computer skills are required, and extra training will be provided for our internal system.

    The role:

    • Identify, implement and process improvements
    • Identify all parts and processes
    • Work with NPI to ensure production readiness
    • Analyse performance data 
    • Reduce changeover time and eliminate wasted using SMED principles
    • Provide engineering support
    • Attend APQP, Quality and Performance meetings 
    • Promote safe working practices and good housekeeping disciplines
